This Too Shall Pass

Stars brighten light years away.

As they glisten in the sky, I take a deep breath.

I yearn for the times we traveled as we pleased, only considering what to pack for the destination.

It’s an incredibly strange time to not fly on airplanes, visit local destinations on a whim, or encounter a spontaneous hug with a new friend.

Does anyone else miss hugs?

I sure do.

Hugs help us create those human bonds.

Hugs are the epitome of human existence.

Night time snuggles are the favorite activity on our daily agenda.

It’s become so eerily commonplace to be cautious, and though it’s for a good reason, I hope we can all safely congregate in a room where we can give hugs and love freely.

We’ll rejoice and laugh and cry in close quarters once again.

We’ll share birthday cake, wedding cake, and make new friends at the pool in the summertime.

We’ll encounter strangers in an airport and become great friends.

We’ll do all these things and more.

And we’ll get through this together.

This too shall pass.
